Growing up I always knew I was going to be an artist. It started when I was little with borrowing my moms camera and helping my grandma quilt, to art classes in middle school + high school, a design degree in college and finally freelancing while working as a receptionist after graduation. One day, my husband, Josh, and I sat together in our living room having a Bible study with his family. If I’m honest I don’t remember the specificity’s of the night but what was abundantly clear was God’s still small voice nudging me to pursue my own business as a graphic designer. It was so clear and I was so excited that God had given me a glimpse of His will for my life. However, I let fear seep into my mind and found myself applying for a multitude of full-time positions for the opportunity of security, rather than being diligent and disciplined with developing my own brand. I eventually accepted a position as the creative director for a local start-up company, full of excitement for my first career centric job. I also landed a contractor position for a design agency focused solely on brand + website design, my niche! While the later was everything one could want from a job and more, I knew that I wasn’t fully being obedient with the skill and creativity God had given me. 

IT WAS TIME I TREATED MY OWN BUSINESS WITH AS MUCH CARE AND INTENTIONALITY AS I TREATED SOMEONE ELSE’S.

I left my corporate job and after a crazy turn of events, we moved from VA -> GA, found amazing community and got heavily involved in our church. I wish I could say I got serious about Aviana Creative Co. right away, but it took time, as most great things do. But now…
